Testing/Dyno Test Facility

The development and testing of KDS advanced drive trains and controls require a unique test facility. The KDS facility features 3 dynamometers which are able to run in either a linked or concurrent fashion, providing the ability to fully test a cross drive transmission complete with power take off.

The three dynamometers have combined power absorption of over 1700 HP, providing 12,000 lb. ft. of torque. In addition, two large inline tension brake assemblies are integrated into the drive train to allow for low speed operation, and these can absorb a further 30,000 lb. ft. of torque. The dynamometer drive trains and their controls are set up in modular packages to run together or as single independent units, with all modules being removable.

The features of the dyno facility include 3 dynamometers with the potential to operate together, allowing for a complete cross drive transmission test, with PTO take off.
